Patent reveals upcoming iPhones may have invisible buttons and sliders

Yet another innovative initiative by Apple is on the cards. The makers of the iPhone has filed a patent titled the "disappearing button or slider". If the technology does make it to the market, it is possible that  iPhones and iPads in the future may have buttons and slider controls that are not visible to the naked eye.
The patented document reveal that buttons in iPhone and other devices using this technology will remain hidden by default and will appear when required. PatentlyApple.com said "this was one of at least 34 patents granted to Apple by the US Patent and Trademark Office on May 7. The input devices and display systems may become visible when illuminated from behind through micro-perforated holes that are invisible to the naked eye". It seems the function can also be activated with the motion of user's finger. Heat or sound detection could also activate the function.
Apple has been working on this patent since 2006. Apple said that this technology can also be used for other devices such as remote controls, game players and even Macs.
The production for the iPhone 5S is expected to begin next month, so there is a high possibility that this technology will feature in the iPhone 6 or beyond.

Alleged photos of Apple iPhone 5S motherboard leaked

French Website NowwhereElse on Thursday revealed pictures of what is purportedly the motherboard of the next-gen iPhone 5S.
The motherboard in the pictures seems to have been modified and is very different from the one currently used in the iPhone 5. The new motherboard reveals an entirely different look suggesting the fact that Apple could be working on an upgraded camera module so as to compete with the likes of HTC One and Nokia Lumia 920.
The significant difference can be found on the end of the motherboard that used to power the camera and flash in previous generation models. The components have been moulded to form one piece while it was two separate pieces in the previous models.
Sources also indicate that the new design could be a cost cutting measure, which includes the possibility of a low cost iPhone or iPhone 5S, which are likely to be introduced by the end of this year. There is also a possibility of an entirely iPhone design, for the 2014 model.
The pictured component was sent to the website by Japanese retailer Moumantai, which was also the source of previous leaks of iPhone components.
